Non-stick and impact-resistant: Polymer wear-resistant liners emerge as the preferred material for industrial and mining linings
Time : Oct 27, 2026

In sectors such as mining, construction materials, and power generation—where bulk materials are transported—equipment linings are constantly subjected to erosion and impact. Wear, material adhesion, and silo blockages have long been persistent challenges to stable production. With the continuous evolution of material science, high-polymer wear-resistant liners are increasingly replacing traditional steel liners, emerging as a key solution for optimizing operational conditions.

Traditional metal liners are heavy and exhibit high frictional resistance; wet or fine materials tend to adhere and accumulate on them. This necessitates frequent downtime for cleaning or component replacement, which hampers production capacity and drives up operation and maintenance costs. In contrast, high-polymer wear-resistant liners offer excellent self-lubricating properties and a low coefficient of friction. They resist material buildup and bridging, ensuring smooth material flow, effectively preventing blockages in silos and chutes, and maintaining the continuous operation of the transport chain.

Beyond their anti-adhesion and flow-promoting benefits, these high-polymer liners are also impact-resistant and corrosion-resistant, making them well-suited for complex and demanding production environments. When exposed to the constant erosion of hard materials like sand, gravel, or mineral powder, they absorb impact energy and slow down liner wear. Furthermore, they are resistant to rust and aging—even in environments containing acidic or alkaline substances—resulting in a longer service life than steel and a reduced need for spare parts.

Lightweight design is another significant advantage; high-polymer liners weigh far less than steel plates, making on-site installation and removal easier, while reducing labor intensity and safety risks. Currently, these liners are being utilized in applications such as silos, discharge chutes, and transport vehicle beds. From a long-term operational perspective, they help enterprises achieve energy savings, noise reduction, improved quality, and lower costs, offering a fresh approach to the lightweight retrofitting of equipment in the bulk material handling industry.
