Vacuum box panel: Sliding support component for vacuum belt dewatering machines
Time : Oct 26, 2026

The vacuum box panel is a critical component of a vacuum belt dewatering machine. Installed atop the vacuum box, it serves as a support surface over which the filter belt continuously slides, making it an indispensable element in solid-liquid separation processes. During operation, the filter belt glides across the surface of the vacuum box panel; in conjunction with a negative-pressure system, this facilitates the dewatering of slurries. The condition of these panels—often referred to as "sliding tables" for vacuum belt dewatering machines—directly influences the operational status of the entire dewatering system.

Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) is a widely used material for these panels. It offers excellent self-lubricating properties and a low coefficient of friction. It is highly resistant to the formation of burrs or fraying—even when subjected to the constant scouring of gypsum or coal slurries—and provides strong resistance to acid and alkali corrosion, making it well-suited for demanding wet-dewatering environments. Compared to other materials, UHMWPE panels reduce sliding resistance and minimize abnormal wear on the filter belt.

The flatness of the vacuum box panel is crucial for maintaining the vacuum seal of the dewatering machine. If a panel becomes severely worn or its surface turns rough, it can damage the filter belt and lead to air leakage. A drop in vacuum levels makes it difficult to achieve the required moisture content in the processed material, often necessitating frequent production stoppages for maintenance and disrupting the continuity of the solid-liquid separation process.

Vacuum box panels are utilized across a variety of industries, including desulfurization gypsum dewatering in power plants, coal slime dewatering in coal preparation plants, mineral concentrate dewatering in the mining sector, and sludge dewatering in chemical and municipal wastewater treatment facilities. Depending on specific operational requirements—such as wear resistance, explosion-proofing, or corrosion resistance—panels can be fabricated using different molecular weights or modified grades of UHMWPE to ensure the long-term, stable operation of the dewatering system.
