In coal production, storage, and transportation scenarios, material buildup and blockage in coal bunkers and chutes are common industry challenges. The application of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) liners provides a new direction for solving these persistent pain points. Wet coal fines and sticky mineral materials easily adhere to the bunker walls, leading to accumulation and hardening. This not only causes poor material flow and segregation, affecting production continuity, but traditional treatment methods are also singular and inefficient.
In fact, addressing coal bunker buildup does not rely solely on passive shutdowns for cleaning. Material upgrading has become a core new approach to solving this issue. UHMWPE liners, with their unique material properties, are well-suited for the complex working conditions of coal storage and transportation, preventing material adhesion at the source. This material features a low surface friction coefficient and excellent self-lubricating properties, greatly reducing the adhesion and clinging of coal fines to the bunker walls. This allows material to flow more smoothly, preventing the accumulation of layered buildup.
At the same time, its high strength, impact resistance, and wear resistance enable it to withstand the high-frequency impact and friction wear caused by coal loading, unloading, and sliding over the long term. It maintains stable performance even in harsh environments with high humidity and dust. Refurbishing and optimizing the internal contact surfaces of bunkers with UHMWPE liners can effectively reduce the frequency of buildup and blockage issues, significantly decreasing the need for shutdowns for cleaning and eliminating reliance on manual unblocking. This ensures on-site operational safety while effectively stabilizing the production efficiency of coal storage and transportation, providing reliable support for continuous and stable industrial and mining operations.
