As a mining conveyor company in Shanxi, we were long plagued by traditional steel idlers. Frequent replacements and high maintenance costs severely impacted production efficiency. The introduction of HMWPE idlers effectively solved this pain point, proving through practical experience that they are the preferred solution for harsh working conditions.
Our workshop conveyor belt transports raw coal year-round, resulting in high dust and humidity. Traditional steel idlers needed replacement every 3-4 months on average due to rust and wear, requiring half a day of downtime each time, wasting manpower and reducing productivity. After switching to HMWPE idlers, their wear resistance far exceeded expectations, with a service life more than three times that of steel idlers. After more than a year of use, there is still no significant wear, greatly reducing the frequency of downtime for replacements.
Their lightweight design has also greatly benefited us. Weighing only one-eighth of steel idlers, they can be easily installed by a single person, effectively changing the previous time-consuming and labor-intensive replacement method requiring two people, reducing worker fatigue and safety hazards. Meanwhile, the self-lubricating and non-stick properties of high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UPPE) idlers effectively solve the problem of belt misalignment caused by raw coal adhesion, protecting the conveyor belt and reducing belt maintenance costs.
Furthermore, UPPE idlers are highly corrosion-resistant, exhibiting no rust or jamming even in high-dust and humid environments. They have a long maintenance-free cycle and require no frequent lubrication, further reducing our operation and maintenance costs. Their quiet operation also improves the workshop working environment, meeting green production requirements.
