In energy extraction fields such as oilfield well sites and mining areas, soft, muddy, and rugged terrain, coupled with the need for heavy equipment access, has long been a key challenge restricting operational efficiency. Polyethylene roadbed boards, with their superior performance as polymer materials, have become an ideal solution to these access difficulties.
Well site operating environments are harsh. Deserts, wetlands, and saline-alkali lands have low load-bearing capacity. Drilling rigs, fracturing trucks, and other equipment weighing hundreds of tons move frequently. Traditional gravel roads have long construction cycles and are prone to settlement, while steel plates are susceptible to corrosion and difficult to transport. Polyethylene roadbed boards, made from high-density or ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, are lightweight and high-strength, with each board weighing only 20-80 kg. They can be quickly assembled manually, and temporary roads can be laid in just 2 hours. With a compressive strength exceeding 20MPa, it can stably support equipment weighing up to 200 tons, evenly distributing concentrated loads and reducing ground settlement from 30cm to within 5cm. It is also resistant to acids and alkalis, corrosion, and temperature differences from -40℃ to 80℃, ensuring stable use in arid desert and humid coastal environments. In mobile well site development, it can be flexibly assembled and disassembled according to drilling progress, increasing road construction speed by three times and significantly shortening the well site preparation cycle.
Compared to traditional materials such as steel plates and concrete, polyethylene roadbed panels combine lightweight, high load-bearing capacity, anti-slip properties, weather resistance, and environmental friendliness. They solve the pain points of heavy equipment access and ground load-bearing capacity in well sites and mining areas, while reducing construction and maintenance costs and shortening the construction period. Under the trend of efficient and green development in energy extraction, it has become a core material for well site construction and mining area transportation.
